APPRECIATION

The Cooperative gratefully acknowledges the generous financial support it receives from individuals, local government and community organisations, including:

Queanbeyan Lions Community Bookshop has been a regular donor and supporter of Karabar Housing Cooperative for many years.  During the last financial year the Bookshop donated $10,000 which contributed to the supply and installation of reverse cycle airconditioning units in KHC properties.

Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra donated $10,000, being the full cost of renovating the bathroom for one of our senior tenants. The renovation resulted in a mobility‑friendly, accessible and beautiful bathroom which will allow this tenant to age safely in place.

A private donor specifically requested that his donation be used to purchase and install solar panels for three of our townhouses. That donation has made an ongoing difference to the cost of living for those tenants.

Several private donors whose generous donations will enable the Cooperative to continue to meet the ever-growing demand for affordable housing in the Queanbeyan and the surrounding region.

ADCO Constructions Pty Ltd this year volunteered its trades and staff to beautify Karabar Village, including by repairing/replacing pieces of cracked concrete in the common driveway, landscaping/gardening, undertaking carpentry-related repairs to pergolas and carports, and painting.  Every year sees ADCO dedicate around $600,000 and commit over 1000+ hours of staff time to communities in which they live and build, whereby ADCO staff and project partners dedicate resources, expertise and a full day of work time to local projects. Karabar Housing Cooperative is very grateful to ADCO for its support and consideration.
